First year doesn't have to be hard.

Nicholas Garcia & Simon Katkov

According to 'UofTears' lore, it's impossible to achieve high marks, get into your program, get enough sleep, and maintain a social life at UofT.

We started UofTearless to prove that those things are not only possible, but easier than you think.

How did we do it?

By the time we took BIO120 and PSY100, we had already developed the Tearless Method—a proven strategy for making and studying flashcards that helped us excel academically while still enjoying life outside of studying.

Nicholas Garcia

Nicholas Garcia
(co-founder)

Nick began developing the Tearless Method in response to nearly failing grade 11. After four years of ruthlessly refining it, Nick became an NSERC-funded undergraduate researcher, and was accepted into the competitive bioinformatics specialist program—all while competing nationally as a Varsity Blues athlete.

Following his success, Nick began teaching his academically-struggling friend, Simon, the Tearless Method.

After a year of learning from Nick, Simon went from nearly dropping out in first year, to getting into the psychology specialist program—while running 12 marathons and medalling provincially as a Varsity Blues rower.

Simon's success proved that the Tearless Method can be leveraged by anyone.

So after 6 years of trial and error, we’ve packaged our method and its results for you to use, empowering you to achieve the same success.

What our customers say

"I feel like [I] have time to spend on comprehending the information and making connections to other parts of the course because the memorization part comes so easily now, and my grades have improved immensely because of it."

"[I]t's also easier for me to study now; [I] usually do my reps on the bus".

Felix D.
(2nd year Biology major)

"[Nick] introduced [me] to Anki in high school and [I] have continued using it for applicable courses in university. It's the most effective study method for memorization-based content I have encountered and is a huge contributor to my above-average performance in courses with memorization-based assessments".

Jen Jon M.
(3rd year Materials Engineering)

"I def would’ve failed without that super goated Anki deck [Simon] gave me. It’s got everything you could possibly need for the course since it’s got thousands of cards. That shit got me thru [PSY100] ez breezy".

N. Grozdanovski
(3rd year Statistics major, varsity figure skater)

"[The PSY100 Premier deck] is insane, quite literally has everything you need to pass the course."

"[H]onestly best study strategy as well".

M. W.
(3rd year International Relations & Public Policy double-major)
