Recall App
Below is our authentic experience using Recall. READ FIRST, then make your decision. That's why the button is at the bottom of the page. Your trust is all that matters to us!
What is Recall?
Recall is a browser extension (it also has an app) that solves the problem of remembering and finding anything you come across on the internet. Essentially, it's a second brain.
Recall automatically summarizing content and categorizing it in a consistent way. Connections are also drawn between the content you add, helping resurface existing content when it is related to something new.
Why is Recall worth using?
In using Recall, the feature we found that was unlike anything we had previously seen was the Recall "review" feature of the app. This app earns the UofTearless verification badge because, unlike any other second brain software out there, you can actually test yourself on what you have saved.
It can create flashcards for you to study, practice questions for you to test yourself, and will even show you everything that is related to the topic in the response.
On top of that, it's incredibly easy to add websites, videos, articles, or literally anything else. You just click a button and it uploads. Thus, it greatly improves your efficiency and makes connections for you on things that you might not necessarily have time to see in our busy lives.
The only drawback to this is that on the iPhone, you have to click the "share" button on Safari, tap the app (which opens the app as well), and you have to wait for it to load before going back to your search engine to continue browsing. It's not that bad, but it's one layer of friction that doesn't exist on the computer version. On the computer, you can simply click the "Recall this page," and it's automatically added without you even having to open the Recall web page
It organizes and categorizes everything for you (obviously, you can customize it if you want), which means you just "upload and can refer back to ORGANIZED material whenever you want.
Although this certainly helps with school, we at UofTearless actually find it more valuable for organizing everything else in your chaotic life. This helps remove all of the cognitive energy cost that is spent trying to stay organized and helps you have a clear head and drastically reduced stress throughout the day.
Particularly with UofTearless, we consume a lot of media to make the brand better. It's incredibly difficult to remember which topics to address or features to implement when we hear about them or get an idea. So, instead of saving a billion tabs and filling up the notes app and voice memos every day and then having to sort through them, you can just upload everything (the videos, podcasts, notes, and voice memos) to Recall, and it does the rest for you.
Recall finds relations with past content you have saved, and what we find incredibly useful is it helps resurface information that you may have forgotten about. Then, once you study them, you'll be stacking bricks of mental performance.
If you're looking to start building your second brain, this is a "no-brainer." See what we did there? ;)
Pardon the language, but here's a direct quote from our founder, Simon Katkov:
"Yo, for real though, this sh*t is actually insane!" (shouted to us after adding his third YouTube video in under 15 seconds)
